Bringing together the country’s brewers and industry for a week of: Connection. Inspiration. Accolades. And beer.

 

This year we are celebrating 15 years of industry collaboration.  A lot has changed in society since the Brewers Guild was established in 2006. New Zealanders have lived through earthquakes, volcano erruptions, terrorist attacks, and are still living through a global pandemic. The changes in technology have been exponential and we've added a new
generation to the workforce.


As an industry we've created new styles, launched thousands of beers, expanded the creativity of our design, become internationally recognised for our innovation and raw ingredients, and we've seen breweries come and go from the industry.


At BREWNZ’21 we want to take time to celebrate our achievements over the past 15 years and
reflect on the lessons we’ve learned. We'll also spend time imagining what the next 15 years
could have in store for our industry. So come on a journey with us Back to the Future.

This year we are mixing things up a little bit in response to feedback from our members.  Many of you have told us that you would love to be at Mashing In and the conference but cannot take an additional day away from the brewery.  So we have condensed our events into two days.  We hope this means that more of you can be part of the annual BREWNZ events.

 

Mashing In

This years Mashing In will take place at the base of Forsyth Barr stadium on the evening of Friday, 15 October 2021.

I mean if you are going to be in Dunedin.. this is one of the most iconic venues.  And it gives us plenty of space for us to enjoy ourselves as an industry. 

Back to the Future Exhibition Day

The annual conference is a time for industry to step out of the day-to-day and connect with each other and new ideas.   There are a lot of big issues facing our industry - from labelling changes and container refund schemes to contrained talent pools and the opportunities around beer tourism.  

If you are interested in learning from our past 15 years and working together to create a better brewing industry in New Zealand - the Exhibition Day is the place to be. 

And this year - to make it easier for people to attend - we are hosting the Exhibition Day on Saturday, 16 October 2021.  The condensed format will make it easier for people to travel - but we will still focus on delivering a jam packed schedule of speakers and information.   And don't worry - we will make sure there is coffee on hand for the night after Mashing In recovery...

 

 

 

Awards Dinner

The announcements of winners of the 2021 New Zealand Beer Awards will take place on the evening of Saturday, 16 October 2021 at the Town Hall in Dunedin.   

It will be a wonderful opportunity for industry to get together in the room. 

T-Shirt Design Competition

We wanted to celebrate our industry and its design by providing a limited edition T-Shirt to the attendees at BREWNZ'21 and are partnering with Fermentis By Lesaffre for a T-Shirt design competition.
