1/. Welcome Speech, thanking Attendees and Sponsors
2/. Apologizes and absentees
3/. Minutes of the previous meeting:
- - The last major meeting with brewers was held at the The Twisted Hop Christchurch in 4th November 2006. Committee members present were; Richard Emerson, Luke Nicholas, Geoff Griggs, Craig Cooper and Martin Bennett (David Cryer absent). Detailed information in the 4th December 2006 Newsletter. Minutes to be presented and approved
4/. Financial Reports:
- David Cryer Loan for BrewNZ name
- Financial Position of the Brewers Guild
- Re-imbursement of Executive for Travel Costs to be highlighted for transparency.
- Subscription renewals, when due?
- Membership report
- Change in the rules allowing us the income tax exemption
5/. Guild Report & Activities
- This is the first AGM under the official Brewers Guild of New Zealand .
- Overview of BrewNZ from Guild Executive member
- Change next year to having a Event Manager to take Organisation load off Exec.
- Movement away from BrewNZ organisation to targeting Excise, promotion of members interests ie sanctioning committee, joint promotion of sanctioned events etc.(ie Ellerslie event in conjunction. with Brewers Guild)
- Collating of Statistics for NZ Industry taking over from defunct BWS.
6/. Topics for discussions:
- Target of Brewers Guild of NZ, Colin Paige to discuss
- Next BrewNZ? Outside Wellington, ie Christchurch, Auckland, Dunedin?
- Booklet on “How to setup BrewNZ” for interested members intending to host.
- IBD Auckland 2008 – David Meads to present for 15 mins
- Politics
- - Excise Duty, similar to Australia developments
Lobby clout with Parliament on Brewing & alcohol issues
- Educational issues? (DC working on getting Nick Smith or Lobbyist to give some insight to members on best way to go fwd)
- Trainee Judges (Luke to show policy and how we are improving Pool through Trainee judge scheme)
- When is next meeting, BrewNZ 2008 or an interim meeting IBD 2008 Auckland perhaps?
- Committee members available for re-election. (see attached sheet for all candidates staying on all new members to complete prior to AGM)
- Secret Ballot to be done on Electing President, Secretary, Vice-President, Treasurer and 4 Executive members.
